A Look Inside a Wean to Finish Operation

Bruce Thiessen of York County, along with his family hosted an open house in January 2017 to showcase their new wean to finish hog operation. This barn houses 2,500 pigs which are brought in at about 10 pounds. The pigs stay for about 6 months till they reach market weight. Because of new technology in the hog industry, Bruce is able to monitor the building from his phone and ensure the best care for his pigs.
